St Matthew, Apostle and Evangelist
St Matthew was an apostle and evangelist who responded to Jesus’ call by leaving his work as a tax collector and following Him. His Gospel proclaims Jesus as the Messiah and invites all people to conversion and discipleship.
Daily Reflection
Daily Reflection: Jesus called Matthew while he was sitting at the customs post. Matthew did not allow his past to prevent him from beginning a new life with Christ. God also calls us where we are and invites us to respond with faith. Today, let us ask for the courage to leave behind whatever keeps us from following Jesus more faithfully.
